VFW founder Yianni Stamas is the Web Marketing expert on TCI College’s Networking and Web Technology Advisory board. Since 2006, TCI has offered their digital media arts students a college credit internship with VFW through VFW’s educational division called the VFW Academy and Digital Communication Arts workshops. This in-house academy offers a 3, 8 and 12 week or more video, film and web hands on concentrated power course, working on actual VFW client projects while learning the ins and outs of how to get more job opportunities, clients, referrals, testimonials and awards using the web marketing ABCs including digital media arts tools, internet co-promotion strategies and online video campaigns.

With the economy the way it is now, it is a vital to explore the path of creating your own opportunities and VFW Academy is a safe place to do that. Plus, for those students who excel in the program, they are offered freelance opportunities to subsidize their income while they continue to develop their business opportunities and create their own digital portfolio. One such portfolio which chronicled one freelancer’s journey won the Platinum Pia in 2009.

The emphasis of the three month or longer program is on the entrepreneurial aspects of starting your own business as a viable alternative to seeking a job in these times of challenging employment opportunities.
