“HSVD ROCKS” DOCUMENTARY SELECTED
TO LAUNCH PLATINUM PIAS TRIBECA SCREENING. As HSVD (High School For Violin And Dance) former principal Tanya Johns puts it:

"There's no mistaking of where we are and of our population. We are in the South Bronx - we are the poorest congressional district in the United States...period. And our kids, they deserve to have, the same type of experiences and exposures that a normal U.S. citizen would have.”

“And in keeping with this mission, Ms. Johns and the New York City Department of Education hired Video, Film & Web Services, Inc. to produce a 15 minute documentary in which media footage shot by students is edited together into a short film that conveys the unique learning systems that HSVD is using for educational and student empowerment and success.

This film will be seen in its first public screening at Robert De Niro’s Tribecca Screening Room in conjunction with the Platinum Pias Awards for which it is a nominee.
